The "Mighty Mulberry"

The Mulberry originates near the small town of Fallsville, AR and flows just over 60 miles to its confluence with the Arkansas River. We use about 40 miles of the river commercially. The Mulberry is a beautiful river to float. The water color ranges from a dense green to a blue green, and it is not uncommon to see wildlife along the way. The river flows through both forest and pasture land. In 1922, the Mulberry was included in the National Wild and Scenic River System program and is now federally protected.

Well known for its white-water, the Mulberry is one of the toughest commercially run rivers in the area. Many people come from all over to ride the waves and leave with souvenirs stating, "I survived the Mighty Mulberry!" While the Mulberry might have earned its reputation at higher water levels, it is actually perfect for beginners at lower water levels. It is a pool-and-drop river with many learning opportunities for skills such as ferrying and eddying. There are many clinics and classes held on the Mulberry.

The water level is dependant on rainfall and can vary from day to day. You should always call and check on the current water level before your trip.

Rock Climbing

For a real adventure arrange a rock-climbing or rappelling class with one of our nationally known certified instructors. Classes are by appointment only, and with advance notice.

Our instructors are also available for classes in all outdoor activities offered at the adventure center. These include canoeing, kayaking, biking, and backpacking.
