The
Byrds's Adventure Center zip line will give you a taste of flying while
being securely attached to the line. Currently at just under 300' in
length, the line whisks you over the green waters of the Mulberry River
some sixty feet below.
The
current zip line provides just a taste of what is to follow. Thrill-seekers
will be excited to know that plans are moving smartly forward on the
design phase and construction stage of the first canopy tour in Arkansas
which will be located right here on Byrd's property.

A zip-line consists of a pulley which is suspended on a rope or cable
that is mounted on an incline. The user is harnessed to the pulley and
transported by gravity from one end of the line to the other. Zip-lines
are made in many styles. They range from small-scale for children's
playgrounds to elaborate networks for access to remote areas such as
a rainforest canopy. Zip-line tours are an increasingly popular vacation
activity at outdoor adventure camps and resorts. Zip lines are variably
known as a flying fox, zip wire, aerial runway, aerial ropeslide, and
tyrolean crossing.
SAFETY-
Along with providing participants with with entertainment and education,
of paramount importance to Byrd's Adventure Center is the safety of
our customers. The current zip line has safety redundancies that include
two 9,000-lb lines, twin pulleys, and double carabiners for your protection.
In addition, your zip line experience is overseen by highly qualified
and knowledgeable staff.
