Fly with Byrd's

Byrd's is becoming a favorite destination for adventure aviators. Nestled among the Ozark Mountains, adjacent to the Mulberry River, and on the east edge of our 800-acre property sits a 2500-foot grass strip. Known as Byrd's International Hayfield, this is one of the most remote and beautiful grass strips in the Natural State. Our guests enjoy watching pilots apply bush flying skills as they study the field on approach and touch down next to the Mulberry's crystal waters.

Pilots will find tie-down pullouts on either end of the grass strip. In addition, there is a grass taxiway leading directly to a special pilot campsite next to the water's edge. Pilots can tie-down next to the water and enjoy fishing and camping right from their wingtips. In addition, a private fishing trail runs up and down the bank at this unique spot. There is no charge for aircraft parking or use of the strip. Byrd's exclusive pilot campsite is $10 per person per night.

In addition to the pleasures of wingtip fly-fishing, Byrd's hosts special fly-ins both in the spring and fall. Please check our calendar for upcoming aviation gatherings.
